Are you wanting to help out at Hastings Middle School, but your time is limited. We have a solution for you. Please consider one, two, or all three options listed below. The Hastings B.E.A.R.S. (Bringing Empathy, Acceptance, and Respect Schoolwide) group is students who volunteer their time to make Hastings and the UA community a kinder place. They are asking for your help to collect these items stated below.
- Box Tops for Education
If you no longer have an elementary school student please keep cutting those Box Tops! There is a box in the main office for you to drop those bags off. All of the money will go to the BEARS student committee and the Kindness committee to help with all the great activities that they do for all the students! - Beverage Can Pull Tabs
We are collecting pull tabs off cans. These pull tabs get donated to the Ronald McDonald House. The Ronald McDonald House is a home away from home for families who have a child at Children’s Hospital. The pull tabs are used to help them meet expenses. There is a collection box in the main office. - Plastic Grocery Bags
We are collecting grocery bags to make PLARN. Please make sure the bags are clean and dry inside. Plarn is plastic yarn. It is woven together to make lightweight, waterproof sleeping mats that are used by homeless men and women. Your plastic bags can be dropped off to Mrs. Shapiro in the main office.
