Hi Wickliffe Families,
I often have parents wondering if we could use recycled materials around the art room. The answer is usually, “YES!” The children at Wickliffe are always finding new and inventive ways to create art from unique found objects. Do you have any creative materials gathering dust in your basement? We’d love to repurpose them in the art room.
To streamline the donation process, I have put together a list of materials that I know will be put to good use. If you come across something that you think we could use but aren’t sure, you can always email me at [email protected].
There will be a box in the main lobby between now and Halloween, and a box in the art room (Room 118) all year.
- Cardboard tubes (paper towel, toilet paper, wrapping paper, etc.)
- Flattened cereal boxes
- Fabric/felt
- Thread/yarn/ribbon/embroidery floss
- Aluminum foil
- Masking tape
- Design samples (wallpaper, tile, fabric, paint swatches, etc.)
- Scrapbooking paper or leftover wrapping paper
