2016 Community Cardboard Challenge

cardboardchallenge

When: Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 9:00 am – Noon

The 2016 Community Cardboard Challenge is coming to Wickliffe again this year! This event is organized by the Columbus Museum of Art and the Past Foundation! We are so excited to be involved in this day where creativity and all its key elements including idea generation, critical thinking, imagination, collaboration, and play are celebrated and practiced through similar events around the world. This event is very much in-line with our commitment to thinking, play, and experimenting as tools for learning. Together with other sites in the Columbus area we will make the 2016 Community Cardboard Challenge a city-wide celebration of creativity!

How we can support this event:

  • Volunteers to help out on the day of the event!! http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0d4faaaf22a5f58-wickliffe8
  • Help us collect cardboard and recyclables for the event.   Most items needed
for your Cardboard Challenge can be found around the house, so please start saving boxes, tape, old toys, and other miscellaneous items.  A list of suggested materials can be foundHERESuggested Materials
  • Can you help contact local businesses (grocery stores, drugstores, hardware stores, bookstores. etc.) and see if they have used boxes or supplies to donate?

MORE ABOUT THE CARDBOARD CHALLENGE and The Imagination Foundation

Launched from the overwhelming global response to the short film, “Caine’s Arcade,” the Imagination Foundation was founded to find, foster and fund creativity and entrepreneurship in children around the world to raise a new generation of innovators and problem solvers who have the tools they need to build the world they imagine.

We envision a world in which creativity is a core social value and a critical skill developed in every child; where the innate passion, curiosity and creativity of children is nurtured in schools, homes and communities everywhere; where all children are taught to be creative thinkers and doers, and encouraged to make their very best ideas happen in the world.
