Thank you SO MUCH for making the new winter recess alternative program a success! We had some growing pains, but I can’t tell you how much the kids love having these options! Your support and efforts have been very much WORTH IT!!!

We have obviously reached the point in the year where we have to take each day as it comes to see if recess will be INSIDE or OUTSIDE. If you have any uncertainty at all, please feel free to call Denise no earlier 10:50 am to see what the aides have decided for that day. Here are the responses for each weather condition:
Tuesday & Thursday – movement, art, games (Tuesdays only), library:
INSIDE – all indoor options with adequate volunteers are offered
OUTSIDE – all indoor options are cancelled and there is no need for volunteers
Monday, Wednesday & Friday – walking club:
INSIDE – indoor walking club is offered; 3 volunteers are strongly desired
PLEASE NOTE: On indoor walking club days, 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders intending to walk are instructed to go to the cafeteria at the BEGINNING of the lunch period to eat before beginning the circuit. 4th and 5th graders should walk first then return to their classrooms by 11:35 to be called to lunch.
OUTSIDE with FIELDS OPEN – walking club is offered outside as in the past with the walking path around the field; only 2 volunteers are required
OUTSIDE with FIELDS CLOSED (students are restricted to blacktop or blacktop and big toy) – walking club is offered with the walking path being the perimeter of the blacktop; only 2 volunteers are required
IN CASE YOU NEED TO CANCEL – In preparation of a day when you may need to cancel with little notice, please spend a few minutes NOW to set up your “phone-a-friend” – a person or persons that you can contact to hopefully take your place that day. If you cannot get a replacement, please text me at any hour at 614-946-3052. If you have not heard back from me, please call or email Denise as early as possible (614-487-5150, [email protected]) the day of your cancellation. If you are hopeful that your backup can make it but you have not been successful in contacting her/him, please leave me her/his contact information, and I will happily take it from there.
CHANGE OF TUESDAY’S GAMES LOCATION – This has been relocated from Room 108 to the lobby at the front entrance.
