Reading Rally/Fall Fundraiser FAQ

Why do we do this fall fundraiser?
The Reading Rally is Tremont’s second largest fundraiser and brings in over $13,000 for our school.  It is successful enough that we do not have to add even more to our current fundraising events.  This fundraiser also takes limited volunteers to run.
How does TSA use the money?
In the past it has been used along with the Not-So-Silent Auction to cover teacher grant requests to enhance classroom learning, author visits, teacher stipends for additional classroom supplies, Extended Learning Area and Media Center furnishings, All School Book Club books for each classroom, Hokki stools for classrooms, and Legos for 3rd grade STEM projects.  TSA works with the principal to determine the greatest areas of need.
What are the prize cut off dates this year?
9/16– Trade completed Reach Out Booklets in for a prize at morning drop off in the school lobby
9/21 by 4:00 pm– sales earned by this date will lead to prize distribution on 9/22
9/28 by 4:00 pm– sales earned by this date will lead to prize distribution on 9/29(no sales after this time will go towards prizes)
I input orders, why didn’t my child receive their prize?
All orders received by 4:00 pm on 9/21 will receive their prizes on 9/22.  Prizes for orders input after 4:00 pm on 9/21 through 4:00 pm on 9/28 will receive prizes on 9/29.  All sales after 4:00 pm on 9/28 will still benefit Tremont, but no sales will go towards prizes.
What else can I purchase besides magazines?

May I make a donation rather than a purchase?  And if I make a donation, will my child receive a prize?
Yes, we will accept check donations (NO CASH).  Your child will be eligible for prizes.
Example:
$20 = 1 sale
4 sales or $80 = the first emoji prize level
How do I donate?
We are accepting checks (NO CASH) payable to Tremont School Association.  Please include your child’s name on the memo line.  Teachers have an envelope for donation checks in each classroom.  Donations will be collected on 9/21 and 9/28 by 4:00 pm for prize distribution.  The order turn in deadlines also apply to donations. (see above)
How can my child earn a prize even if he/she hasn’t sold anything?
On the morning of 9/16, stop by the prize table in the school lobby and trade in a completed Reach Out Booklet for a “Thumbs Up” emoji.  Also, if the school reaches its fundraising goal, ALL students will get a DJ Dance Party and Rita’s Italian Ice.
When is the fundraiser over?
The Reading Rally order deadline is 9/28 at 4:00 pm.  HOWEVER, orders are accepted all year long on www.gaschoolstore.com, ID# 2611424.  A portion of the proceeds will still go to Tremont but no prizes will be awarded after 9/28.
Who can attend the DJ Dance Party?
If Tremont reaches its school goal of 1500 sales, there will be a DJ Dance Party and Rita’s Italian Ice for ALL students.
